Silver Springs, PA.
October 27th 1984[Transcript of October 27th Channel 8 news report]***The search for missing Silver Springs teenager Madison Whitehouse ended in tragedy this Saturday morning when her body was discovered in a parking lot over 150 miles from her home.
Richmond Police officials confirmed that the 17 year-old was found deceased at approximately 5:06 a.m. outside a 7-Eleven convenience store on the city’s outskirts. Preliminary reports indicate the victim suffered multiple stab wounds.
Madison, a popular Silver Springs highschool senior, had been the subject of an intensive multi-state search after she was reported missing Friday evening. Her father, State Senator Samuel Whitehouse, issued a brief statement through a representative late this afternoon, asking for "privacy and prayers as the family navigates an unimaginable darkness."
The Senator, accompanied by his wife and Madison’s boyfriend, Jack Morgan, made the trip to Richmond today to identify the remains. Also present was Racheal Sawyer, a close friend of the victim, who stated:
“Madison is- was- like the way cherry cola and an Elvis tastes or the way the sun looks at seven on a summers night- she was our Maddie and she was perfect. Pretty, popular, sweet as honey- the kind of girl who you’d trust with the final say about dropping a guy, or if those jeans are worth the price- and she’d be honest. Thats why we loved her.”While the Silver Springs Police Department is working in conjunction with Virginia authorities, investigators remain tight-lipped regarding a motive or potential suspects. Questions continue to swirl regarding how the young woman was transported across state lines in such a short window of time. More updates will be printed and reported as more information is revealed.
